We regret to announce that due to the increased risk of Coronavirus #Omnis Software has been forced to postpone the Omnis Developer Conference in Las Vegas scheduled for March 24-25, 2020. We will reschedule the event for later in the year.

At the heart of our developer conferences are the technical sessions, delivered by some of the top speakers in the Omnis world – and this time at the Hampton Inn Tropicana in Las Vegas, March 24+25, is no exception with some brilliant speakers from the Omnis community and senior staff from Omnis Software itself. The technical content you will see, and the knowledge you will acquire, pays for the conference fees many times over, so you really don’t want to miss it!

  • ThadFirst, we are delighted to be joined by Thad Bogert of ClienTrax, an experienced Omnis developer, a regular conference speaker, and at one time an Omnis technical support engineer. On the first conference day Thad will demo the Datafile To SQL Emulation Tool, which he helped to develop, working closely with the Omnis engineering team in the UK – the tool provides developers with a clear path for migrating Omnis data file based applications to utilize SQL backends such as PostgreSQL and SQLite. We are so grateful for Thad’s assistance with the development of this product and we are delighted he joins us at the conference.
  • BobThen we are delighted that Bob Mitchell, principal Omnis Engineer at Omnis Software in the UK and the main architect of the Omnis core, is able to attend the conference, and show you some of the great things in the current Omnis Studio, and the exciting new stuff coming in the future. On the first day Bob delves deep into the new features in Studio 10.2 (including the new MultiProcess server), then he steers you along the Product Roadmap. Then during the whole of the second day Bob devotes his time to showing you the new OW3 Workers (which can optimize apps with a heavy workload), RESTful Web Services & how to implement an HTTP/HTTPS application server, and he finishes with an overview of the enhancements in the Fat Client & controls used for developing desktop and Client/server apps.
  • JasonWe’re also thrilled that Jason Gissing joins us from the UK engineering team – Jason is the main engineer behind the JS Client & its UI controls. On the first day Jason hosts a Break-out session all about the new JavaScript components (incl Toolbar, Calendar, etc), then on day 2 Jason shows how you can use Node.js running inside the new JavaScript Worker to perform more or less any server based task, allowing you to build robust & scalable apps. He also delves deep into the JS Client and using CSS to enhance & augment the UI in your browser-based Omnis apps.

We feel confident that we have assembled a great program of technical content, delivered by some of the top speakers in the Omnis community, and we really don’t want you to miss it. The extent of technical knowledge you will acquire will repay for the conference fees many times over, so we really hope you can join us in Las Vegas in March.

Back in November last year we had a very successful few days at the DeveloperWeek conference in Austin Texas, showing attendees the power and flexibility of Omnis Studio 10.1. Due to the success of that event for us, we have decided to attend the next DeveloperWeek Conference & Expo, which is in San Francisco, February 12-16.

DeveloperWeek San Francisco 2020 is one of the largest events in North America designed for developers, with dozens of week-long events including the Conference & Expo, 1,000+ attendee hackathon, a tech hiring expo, and a series of workshops, open houses, drink-ups, and city-wide events across San Francisco – it should be a great opportunity to see what’s going on in application development in 2020, and to meet up with Omnis Software staff to discuss your application development requirements.

DeveloperWeek Austin 2019

Omnis Software USA staff at DeveloperWeek Austin 2019

So we urge you to visit DeveloperWeek in San Francisco, stop by our booth, see live presentations of what’s new in Omnis Studio 10.1, talk to Omnis Software representatives from the US & Europe, and ask everything you always wanted to know about Omnis Studio!

For more information about the conference & expo, and to register, please visit the DeveloperWeek website:

As the new year starts we all tend to look forward, and maybe you will be starting new projects, looking for new opportunities, or maybe learning some new technologies – and at Omnis Software we have many exciting events & opportunities for you to see new things, and to allow you to take your development projects forward. Not least, we already have two major developer conferences planned – one in America in March and one in Europe in June 2020, and at the latter we will celebrate the company’s 40th anniversary! We will release full information about these events over the coming weeks, but we already have the details and registrations are open for the American conference.

See you in Las Vegas

We regret to announce that due to the increased risk of Coronavirus #Omnis Software has been forced to postpone the Omnis Developer Conference in Las Vegas scheduled for March 24-25, 2020. We will reschedule the event for later in the year.

We so look forward to welcoming you at the Hampton Inn Tropicana in Las Vegas, Nevada, for our North American Omnis developer conference. The conference will take place over 2 intensive, technology-rich days on March 24 – 25, 2020, and there will be some time for fun & entertainment as well, since the hotel is just a couple of minutes from the main strip, and all that goes with a short stay in the iconic betting resort & self-proclaimed “Entertainment Capital of the World”! We hope that the location will suit as many Omnis developers as possible and hope you can attend – we urge all existing developers and those new to the product to attend, to learn the latest features in Omnis Studio 10.1 (and 10.2), and to hear about our exciting plans to drive the company forwards!

The conference is hosted and introduced by the company’s Chairman David Lewis, who will also be available for meetings if you wish to discuss any requirements or issues you might have. On the first day, Tuesday 24 March, we will include sessions on all the latest developments of Omnis Studio 10.2 (which will be available in beta), the product road map and business update presented by senior members of the Omnis development & management teams, who will fly out from Europe for this event. On Wednesday 25 March there will be workshops and in-depth sessions to help provide Omnis developers with the skills to optimise new/existing applications, improving end user experience and maximising the value of their applications. There will be ample time for break-out sessions, or personal discussions with Omnis staff and among developers themselves – in fact these opportunities ‘on the side’ of the conference are the most valuable for collaboration and exchanging experiences with fellow developers.

The detailed conference agenda will be released in the coming weeks, but in the meantime we urge you to get your registration done ASAP – the Early Bird offer on the conference fee ends at the end of January so hurry!

More information and the registration form is here: www.omnis.net/events/#2020

Later in the year – an anniversary conference

Then in June 2020 (16 + 17th) we are pleased to announce we will hold our Omnis Regional Developer Conference in Europe, but with an extra special twist… This year Omnis Software will be celebrating its 40th anniversary and we would love to see as many of you as possible to help us celebrate this momentous occasion for the company – there are not many software companies that can boast about being 40 years old, and we are proud of our roots and the Omnis product history, and we are very excited about the months and years ahead for the company. We will release further details about this special developer conference as soon as we can, which will include full details about all the technical sessions (on Omnis Studio 10.2 etc), as well as the anniversary party details!

So check out our Events page regularly for details of this & many other great events in the coming year: www.omnis.net/events

We look forward to seeing you soon — and helping you to use Omnis Studio to create or develop some great software solutions!

EurOmnis is a developer conference run by developers, for developers from across Europe and the rest of the world. It provides 4 fully packed days of intensive technical sessions, 20 of the most prominent and knowledgeable speakers in the Omnis world, 50 sessions, around 60 different subjects, plus lectures, forums, and representing more than 300 hours of learning. The conference fees pay for themselves just in terms of the training and knowledge you will gain from attending EurOmnis – and you will you make new friends, business contacts, and have a lot of fun (and you get to hear the Omnis band..!).
The EuOmnis conference this year takes place in Germany, October 7-12, at the stunning Burg Hemmersbach, a beautiful old castle/chateau located on the edge of a forest, close to Cologne and only 50 minutes from Düsseldorf Airport.
