Omnis Studio enabled an efficient migration from Desktop to Mobile
while adding functionality, flexibility and robustness by integrating a PostgreSQL database

The Challenge:
Challenge 1: Redesign of the client/server interface to a web interface while keeping the iso functionality.
Challenge 2: Migrate Omnis Studio proprietary data (DF1 files) to a PostgreSQL database and thus modify the data access interface (using the PostgreSQL DAM)
Challenge 3: Integrate new business functionality and improve performance. Processing times have been reduced by a factor of 10, particularly for mass publishing.
Challenge 4: Facilitate on-site deployment and updating. Omnis Studio Server allows efficient remote deployment with no maintenance required on client workstations.
Challenge 5: The use of a database engine makes it possible to secure the daily backup of treatments in real time and in an automated way.
Challenge 6: Modernize the user interface to provide a better user experience. The integration of new users really becomes easier.
Challenge 7: The project manager should project the ergonomics of each screen in a web environment at each step. Omnis Studio, facilitates this agile approach with its IDE.
The Solution
Production and commercial management (ERP)
In a metallurgical production area, the application allows the monitoring of production until settlement. It integrates an interface with SAGE 100 (accounting) directly from Omnis Studio. A functionality for sending invoices, quotes and delivery notes has been integrated using a SMTP worker object.
The simplicity of creating PDF reports has allowed SOMERS to be part of an eco-responsible process by reducing the paper edition to a strict minimum!
The circulation of information and exchanges between the different departments became more fluid through the implementation of a document server.
